Recently I have turned my attention to producing abstract photographs out of my images to add an extra dimension to my photographic work.
Here are some recent examples:
Canberra Uberman was a pseudonym I used while I was an Uber Driver, I used to take lots of photos around Canberra between rides.

Flower from the Cockspur Coral Tree
I came across this beautiful flower growing on the banks of Cabbage Tree Creek, Aspley, Queensland. It is know as the Cockspur Coral Tree.

I recently photographed this beautiful flowering Basil in my back yard.
Any idea what flower this is?
This flower was photographed late this afternoon in my front garden, if budding botanist can identify it, common name is sufficient, please leave a comment.
This photo was taken on the shores or our local lake this afternoon. The reflections are just astounding.
This photograph of was taken from my cell phone. It highlights some of the great effects available just on your phone.
This image was captured today on a visit to Uriara Crossing, on the Murrumbidgee River.

This morning I found the glint of light reflecting on beads of water on my freshly painted deck just beautiful.

On Monday, Martin Drury and I were very privileged to spend some time with acclaimed researcher and writer Bill Gammage.
We had a great time discussing his book The Biggest Estate on Earth. The book documents early European impressions of Australia, proving that there were existing sophisticated land management systems in place. The Allen & Unwin website states about the book:
Explodes the myth that pre-settlement Australia was an untamed wilderness revealing the complex, country-wide systems of land management used by Aboriginal people.
Across Australia, early Europeans commented again and again that the land looked like a park. With extensive grassy patches and pathways, open woodlands and abundant wildlife, it evoked a country estate in England. Bill Gammage has discovered this was because Aboriginal people managed the land in a far more systematic and scientific fashion than we have ever realised.
What appeals to me greatly…

We visited Dubrovnik as part of a ‘Sailing’ Croatia cruise from Split to Dobrovnik and return in October 2013. Although the cruise was promoted as a sailing cruise, the sails were not raised once over the nine day. We did however visit some beautiful seaside ports and villages along the way, including this one:

My wife Tracey and I have identified Sawtell New South Wales (affectionately known by the locals as Sawty), as a potential site for us to spend some time in future years . Here is a selection of shots of this stunning coastline taken on a recent sortie (short return trip).
Another beautiful sunrise this morning at Korora Beach, Coffs Harbour, New South Wales.
